Academy Policy on Criminal Backgrounds:

​At Manchak Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, we are committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive training environment for all students, instructors, and visitors. As part of our dedication to maintaining the highest standards of safety and integrity, we have established the following policy regarding individuals with a criminal history involving violence:

1. Prohibited Offenses
   Any individual with a felony conviction for assault or any other violent crime, including (but NOT limited to) domestic violence, aggravated assault, or homicide, is strictly prohibited from training at Manchak Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

2. Background Checks & Disclosure
   a. Prospective students may be required to disclose any past criminal convictions during the registration process.
   b. If it comes to our attention that a current student has a disqualifying conviction, their membership may be revoked immediately.

3. Zero Tolerance Policy
   Manchak Brazilian Jiu Jitsu upholds a zero-tolerance stance regarding violent behavior, both inside and outside the academy. Any student found engaging in violent or threatening conduct may face disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion.

4. Appeals & Exceptions
   We recognize that every situation is unique. In rare cases, exceptions may be considered based on the circumstances of the conviction, evidence of rehabilitation, and the individual’s commitment to personal growth. Any requests for review must be submitted in writing and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis at the sole discretion of academy leadership.

By training at Manchak Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, all students agree to abide by this policy and uphold the values of respect, safety, and integrity that define our academy.
