About Professor Mike
Mike Manchak is a Second Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Matt Waterhouse with over 16 years of experience..
Mike began his journey under André Pederneiras' black belt, Eduardo "Dudu" Barros. He continued training and competing under Eduardo until he received his purple belt.
He then moved to train with Eduardo's top and very first black belt, Matt Waterhouse and began training full time. This is where his potential came to bloom, becoming Matt's first black belt ever.
Professor Manchak has competed and coached at every level of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has wins at every level, including black belt.
Lineage: Carlos Gracie > Carlson Gracie > André Pederneiras > Eduardo "Dudu" Barros > Matt Waterhouse
COMPETITION REQUIRMENTS
In order to compete under our team name we have requirements for the success, safety and logistics such as coaching and modifying training leading up to competition.
Minimum Requirements:
Must train for at least 6 month* minimum of training time
A minimum of 2 weeks of consistent training leading up to a competition
Consistent training is defined as a minimum of 3 classes per week (2 formal Gi or 2 NoGi class along with 1 open mat, NoGi can be trained at open mat as well)
A minimum of 3 weeks prior notification to coaches that you are planning on competing.
If any and all of these requirements are not met you will not have coaching coverage at tournaments and will have to register as independent and will not be permitted to compete under the team name.
While not mandatory, all competitors are encouraged to have a team patch when competing in the Gi.
The Why:
These guidelines are in place to make sure you are adequately prepared for competition for your own safety.
Also to allow adequate instruction coverage for classes that will be going on on the same day.
*Cumulative of 6 months, at an average of 2-3 days per week
